Well a lot of people had a lot to say this year both good and bad about the $70 million dollar donation to USC earlier 2013. $35 million by hip hop mogul Dr. Dre and $35 million chairman of Universal Music Group’s Interscope-Geffen-A&M Records Jimmy Iovine.
What many people didn’t know was “The duo’s gift will establish the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation, an environment for those rare undergraduate students whose interests span fields such as marketing, business entrepreneurship, computer science and engineering, audio and visual design, and the arts. The program will prepare them to become a new generation of inspired innovators.”

Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was found guility of a number of charges of corruption while office a judge has now sentenced Kilpatrick to serve 28 years in prison.
Following a conviction for public corruption, a judge ruled that Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick will spend 28 years in federal prison.
Kilpatrick was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds today to serve 28 years in federal prison.
“The government has asked for a sentence of 28 years — I believe that is in fact what his sentence should be,” Edmunds said.
If you recall, jurors convicted Kilpatrick of a handful of crimes, including racketeering conspiracy, which carries a maximum punishment of 20 years behind bars. He was portrayed during a five-month trial as an unscrupulous politician who took bribes, rigged contracts and lived far beyond his means while in office until fall 2008.
